Lucio wishes Inzaghi what happened to Mourinho at Barcelona – singles out two Inter players

Inter legend Lucio thinks Simone Inzaghi deserves a night like Jose Mourinho's at Barcelona and picks two key players for the Nerazzurri.

Inter will play tonight against Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.

Lucio won a historic treble with Inter under Mourinho in 2010, defeating Pep Guardiola's legendary Barcelona side in the semi-finals.

This time, the second leg was played in Barcelona after Inter's 3-1 victory at San Siro. The Nerazzurri lost 1-0 in Spain, but that was enough to qualify for the final.

"I remember Mourinho's run at the end of the match; the credit for that achievement will always go to him," Lucio told Gazzetta.

"I wish Inzaghi a night like this, he deserves it for the work he has done."

However, Inzaghi's Inter have lost their last three matches in all competitions.

"Barcelona's attacking power is impressive; they create chances and pose a threat from every area, but Inter's defensive ability, especially in the Champions League, is equally exceptional," argued Lucio.

"Every match is different, but this Inter team has the tactical knowledge that allows them to defend in an organised way. They have physically strong centre-backs, a focused team spirit and the desire to go all the way. They also have the essential technique to play from the back and launch counter-attacks, especially Bastoni," added Lucio. /Telegraph/
