Los Angeles police release footage of home robberies, arrest some of the thieves

Los Angeles police continue to deal with reports of robberies and arson, as nine people were arrested for robbery and one person for intentionally setting a fire in a local park.

The US police department released footage showing a robbery inside a home and the arrest of an arson suspect.

They warned that anyone found guilty would face maximum penalties. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced charges against 10 people for four felonies committed during the devastating wildfires.

Nine people face felony charges related to residential burglaries in the cities of Pacific Palisades and Altadena, while one person has been charged with arson in the city of Azusa.

"These crimes are horrific and constitute a direct attack on our community at a time of unprecedented loss and vulnerability," said Prosecutor Hochman.

Regarding those accused of robbery, some of them are suspected of committing robberies during a state of emergency or evacuation, while others were on probation when they committed these crimes.

Jose Gerardo Escobar has been charged with arson in a local park and is being held in custody.

If convicted, he faces up to nine years in state prison. He is accused of attempting to burn a large fallen tree to the ground in Pioneer Park on Jan. 10. /Telegraph/
