Liverpool with two major absences for the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea

Liverpool have been dealt another serious injury news as it has been revealed that duo Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota will miss the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea on Sunday.

Jones and Jota suffered injuries in the away win over Brentford and are not expected to be available for the final which will be held at "Embley".

Jota's injury seems to be more serious as he is injured in the knee area. Reports from Portugal suggest he could be sidelined for up to two months but is yet to undergo a medical.

In addition to these two, Darwin Nunez was also removed from the game earlier as a protective measure but there is still no update on whether he has any more serious problems.

Alisson could also miss this final due to a hamstring injury last week, but the Brazilian goalkeeper is unlikely to start against Chelsea anyway, as Klopp has used Caoimhin Kelleher in the League Cup this season.

Liverpool take on Luton on Wednesday night as the Reds look to take a step forward in the Premier League title race.

Jota's absence will be glaring in attack, as the Portuguese forward has scored 14 goals this season, including five in his last seven games./Telegraph/
