Liverpool rejected a 'mega offer' from Saudi Arabia - it left their star upset

Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez has been left frustrated over the club rejecting a 'mega bid' from Al-Nassr for his transfer, before the Arab club signed Jhon Duran from Aston Villa. 

According to The Sun, the Arab club had expressed serious interest in securing Nunez's services and were willing to make a big offer to lure him away from Anfield. 

However, Liverpool made it clear that they have no intention of letting the 25-year-old leave. 

Al-Nassr then eventually turned their attention to Aston Villa's Jhon Duran, finalising the transfer of the Colombian striker for €64 million. 

Rumors about Nunez's future grew when he was dropped from the Liverpool squad for their defeat to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League. 

However, Slot later clarified that the striker was dealing with a minor illness and that he was not left out for any transfer reasons.

So far this season, Nunez has scored six goals and provided four assists in 29 appearances in all competitions. 

His performances have not been consistent, however, he has proven himself in some key moments, including the two goals scored against Brentford about two weeks ago./Telegraph/
