Liverpool in talks over loan move for Dutch defender

Liverpool are in talks to bring Dutch international defender Lutsharel Geertruida to Anfield on loan, according to renowned journalist David Ornstein.
The 25-year-old is currently on a one-year loan at Sunderland from RB Leipzig, but the clubs are discussing the possibility of terminating the loan to allow for a move to Liverpool.
Geertruida, who can play as a right-back, centre-back or defensive midfielder, has attracted interest from Liverpool due to deficiencies in their defensive line.

Any transfer of him to the Reds would require Sunderland's approval.
The Dutchman previously worked with Liverpool manager Arne Slot during three seasons at Feyenoord before moving to RB Leipzig in 2024, giving the manager good insight into his skills and versatility. /Telegraph/
