Limaj declares himself after the failure of the constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly

After another failure to elect the speaker of the Kosovo Assembly, the leader of the Social Democratic Initiative, Fatmir Limaj, hopes that things will change in the coming days.

Limaj believes that everyone must contribute to getting out of this situation.

"I hope that things will change in the coming days, it is really a bit of a game of nerves, it has its own path and difficulties. I believe that in the coming days we will all be committed to contributing to getting out of this situation and Kosovo to gain its own organs. We must have one thing clear, more important than anything else, to remain without institutions, but institutions are made through known ways, just like the civilized world does," he stressed.

Asked if he had met with the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, the Nisma chairman said that he had not met, but added that national topics are always up for discussion.

LVV's nominee for Speaker of the Assembly, Albulena Haxhiu, has again not received the votes for Speaker of the Assembly.

In her fifth attempt to be elected speaker of parliament, Haxhiu received only 57 votes in favor from LVV and the communities, 46 against from PDK, LDK and AAK, and three Nisma MPs abstained.

The continuation of the constitutive session is expected to be held on Friday at 10:00./kp/
