The head of the LDK parliamentary group, Jehona Lushaku, has explained the reasons for abstaining from voting on the resolution in defense of former KLA leaders who are being tried in The Hague.

After the end of the extraordinary session, she said that the failure to include their amendment to solve political murders in the resolution meant that they did not participate in the vote.

"We came to the session not being included in the consultative group for this resolution... Since the speaker did not put this amendment to the vote, we have reserved our vote. I felt a responsibility to make this public clarification," she said.

Meanwhile, PDK MP Përparim Gruda, who proposed the resolution, said that its adoption is an important political step to get the process in The Hague back on track.

"It is a political moment for which we are happy that we have had such a large consensus. It is an important step to get the process back on track," he said.

The Kosovo Assembly has approved a resolution in defense of former KLA leaders in The Hague.

While LDK did not participate, the resolution passed with 90 votes in favor, one against from LVV MP Fatos Geci, and no abstentions.
