The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) may reconsider its governing cooperation with the Vetëvendosje Movement in the South Mitrovica Municipality, opening the possibility of breaking up the local coalition.

All this after it is reported that relations between LVV and LDK have deteriorated recently due to the appointment of municipal directors.

The Vetëvendosje Movement, which holds power in the South Mitrovica Municipality, has appointed directors without agreeing with its coalition partner.

Contacted by Telegrafi regarding these developments, the mayor of South Mitrovica, Faton Peci, denied having received any official or unofficial notification from LDK about the termination of cooperation.

"I have meetings every day with citizens, partners and various actors. As for the positions and plans of the LDK, I believe that they share them themselves for the sake of transparency. I have not received any notification from the LDK, neither formal nor informal, about the termination of the agreed cooperation," Peci stated.

He emphasized that he remains open to cooperation with all political partners and that the main processes related to local governance have already been discussed.

"I am ready to cooperate with all partners, as I have always been, on any issue that is in the best interest of the citizens," added the mayor of South Mitrovica.Telegrafi/
