After the last World Cup qualifying match, where Albania faced England and lost 2-0 in a packed stadium with a fantastic atmosphere, the acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, reacted by congratulating both national teams on their successes.
"Albania, like Kosovo, concluded the second campaign, moving on to the next phase. We will never forget the victory over Serbia in Leskovac, despite the ban on the participation of red and black fans and the national flag, and under the cheers of Serbian fans against Kosovo, precisely from the town that we know best for the infamous prison there," Kurti wrote.
He added that he hopes to see Kosovo and Albania together in the World Cup and wished the teams good luck in the upcoming matches.
This result does not prevent Albania from going to the play-offs, while England confirms direct qualification for the World Cup.
