Kurti offered 8 votes to PDK for their presidential candidate, Çitaku reacts: PDK has not offered a formal counter-candidate, only out of spite

PDK Vice President Vlora Çitaku has responded to Prime Minister Kurti, as the latter said that he is ready to offer some signatures to PDK to propose their candidate for president.
Çitaku emphasized that PDK is a state-forming party and that it still bears responsibility for the country's stability today.
In a post on social media, the PDK vice-chair said that the meeting between the party's chairman, Bedri Hamza, and Prime Minister Albin Kurti was not intended to make political bargains, but to offer real opportunities to get out of the cycle of political crises in which the country has fallen.
"We have gone with seriousness, responsibility and a will for solutions. We are ready to offer candidacies that guarantee institutional security, political balance and personalities that will be guarantors of constitutional order. We have not gone to offer a formal counter-candidate for the sake of anger or daily political consumption," Çitaku wrote.
She emphasized that the election of the President is not a test of strength between parties, but a decisive moment for institutional stability, civic trust and the state orientation of Kosovo. “Now is the time for the parliamentary majority to reflect,” she added.
After the meeting, Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that the PDK's decision to nominate a candidate is "good news" and that it brings hope for an interesting race next week. He warned that a party-based race for President is on the cards.
Kurti also mentioned that PDK has 22 MPs in the Assembly and needs 8 additional signatures to officially submit the proposal to the Assembly, emphasizing that LVV can also help in securing them.Telegrafi/
