Kurti is aiming for new elections without appearing guilty of failure, says Jashari
Political analyst, Shemsi Jashari

Political analyst Shemsi Jashari has commented on the failure to constitute the Kosovo Assembly, blaming the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, for deliberate attempts to delay the formation of the institutions.

On Dukagjini's FIVE show, Jashari said that Kurti's actions are part of a strategy to avoid responsibility for the failure of the process of forming new institutions.

"What we have discussed for a long time, during this process that has concluded the elections and the actions that Mr. Kurti has taken continuously, have made it clear that one of his tendencies is to delay the formation of institutions. And probably even delay it to the maximum to see the possibility of going to elections, but without taking the burden of responsibility that this process of establishing institutions, in this case the Assembly, fails due to his own fault," said Jashari.

Jashari particularly criticized the way the issue of the resignations of the Prime Minister and ministers who were elected MPs was managed.

He emphasized that the resignations were not made in a timely manner, preventing the Commission for the Verification of Mandates from having a clear legal overview and avoiding the situation where an official is simultaneously part of the executive and a deputy.

"What we saw today in the Assembly session was an attempt to include the opposition parties, committing a procedural violation, that the government staff did not resign on time. So that the Commission for the Verification of Mandates has them (the resignations) before it and is clear that there is no violation being committed, where someone is being sworn in as an MP and is also active in the executive branch," Jasahri added.

We recall that the report of the Commission for the Verification of Mandates failed to be approved, as PDK, LDK and AAK voted against it, describing it as incomplete and in violation of the Constitution.

After this, the session was adjourned and it is expected that the country's President, Vjosa Osmani, will be informed of the next steps.
