The Vetëvendosje Movement's candidate for prime minister, Albin Kurti, has described the result of the early parliamentary elections as a victory for the people of Kosovo.

In a press conference, Kurti emphasized that the LVV's victory clearly shows the need to move forward with the formation of institutions and for the certification of the results as soon as possible.

"On February 9 this year, LVV won with its partners, on December 28, 2025, the people of Kosovo and the Republic won. Congratulations on the biggest victory in the country's history. Now we have a lot of work ahead of us and today's result has made it clear to us that we must move forward without delay. The sooner the results are certified, the sooner we must create the institutions and continue with the necessary work and projects," Kurti said.

According to preliminary CEC results, LVV received 49.74% of the votes, excluding conditional votes, those from people with disabilities and those from the diaspora.

Kurti invited the former opposition parties to cooperate in the Assembly for the approval of international agreements and laws that serve the public interest.

"I invite opposition parties to cooperate in the Assembly for international agreements, good laws, and the public interest of the citizens of the Republic," he said.

Speaking about the election of the country's president, Kurti said that he will first talk with the current president, Vjosa Osmani, whose mandate expires in April 2026, and then with the other parties in the Assembly.

He underlined that the approval of international agreements, which requires the vote of 80 MPs, will be an important test for the cooperation between LVV and other parties, also influencing the election of the president.

Kurti also spoke about relations with Albania, emphasizing that cooperation with the Albanian state will increase.

"We cooperate with the Republic of Albania with whatever government is there. We have 58 new agreements with Prime Minister Rama, and the level of their implementation is greater than ever before. We are interested in the rapprochement and cooperation increasing even more", he concluded./Telegrafi.
