Kurti "gets Duda Balje and Emilija Rexhepi into trouble"

Newly elected MP, Duda Balje, has shared a reaction from several Bosniak activists and intellectuals from Gora, who accuse the leader of the NDS, Emilija Rexhepi, of the constant denial of Bosniaks.

These clashes come after reports days ago that Kurti had reached an agreement with Balje, who was reportedly promised a ministerial post in the next government.

Regarding this, Emilija Rexhepi reacted harshly, even warning that she would not vote for the Kurti 3 government.

However, after a consultative meeting with Kurti, Rexhepi changed his position, declaring to the media: "I vote for the Kurti 3 government."

Meanwhile, Duda Balje has also called for the formation of a Bosniak municipality, which he said is a process that will take several years.

"For those of you who don't understand anything at all, taking over the municipality is a process that can take several years... so there is no need for so much fear and hatred," Balje declared.

But tensions increased further after an interview by Rexhepi on the "Poglavlje" show on RTK2, where she implied that Balje is not Bosniak and that she is using the municipality issue for political purposes.

In the reaction distributed by Balje, a group of activists and intellectuals from Gora strongly condemn this statement, describing it as a denial of Bosnian identity.

They consider it unacceptable for a representative of non-majority communities to display exclusionary attitudes towards members of the community she herself represents.

"The latest public statement where she denied Balje's Bosniak affiliation is a continuation of a dangerous stance. It is unacceptable for a political representative to disparage the national identity of members of her own community, for political or personal reasons," the reaction states.

They recall that during the last election campaign, Rexhepi had visited Gora more than anyone else and included candidates from this area on her list, raising the question of whether she only knows the Bosniaks of Gora when she needs votes.

Balje warned that such statements could also have legal consequences for Rexhepi.

"The Bosniaks of Gora are not denied - they are respected!", it says at the end of the statement distributed by Balje. /Telegrafi/
