The acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, participated today in the roundtable on the topic "Challenges and improvement of the functioning of municipal offices for communities and returns", where he discussed the achievements and challenges of institutions in supporting non-majority communities.

In his speech before local and international representatives, the Prime Minister emphasized that support for non-majority communities has been one of the main priorities of the government.

"During more than four years of governance, building policies that facilitate the lives and access of non-majority communities has been high on our priorities," Kurti said.

He recalled that during the mandate, nine meetings were held with municipal officials on communities and returns, and that this roundtable serves as a moment of reflection on the work done and the experiences shared with the communities.

"This roundtable is a moment to look back and review what we have achieved as a government in this mandate," he said.

Speaking about the results of the Ministry of Communities and Returns, Kurti emphasized that Minister Nenad Rashic and his team have contributed to providing grants and concrete support to communities.

"Grants have been allocated to farmers, young entrepreneurs and NGOs, financing over 400 projects worth 1.4 million euros," he stated.

"Over 170 houses have been built or renovated to ensure sustainable return, and 34 apartments have been built for families who have been living in collective centers," the prime minister added.

He also highlighted the cooperation with municipalities and the implemented infrastructure projects.

"The ministry has implemented 14 infrastructure projects and increased subsidies for efficient equipment, while through the 'Kosova Generation Unlimited' program, employment opportunities have been promoted in municipalities with a non-majority majority," Kurti said.

In this context, he also mentioned support for youth and local economic development.

"Within the framework of the 'Municipalities for Youth' project, we have supported 3,000 young people in developing skills, while 819 new businesses have been registered in the northern municipalities," he emphasized.

"For infrastructure, we have allocated 3.9 million euros for roads in settlements of non-majority communities," the prime minister added.

Concluding his speech, Kurti emphasized the importance of continued cooperation with communities.

"Communities are part of us, part of society, and we must do our utmost to ensure that everyone feels integrated, has the conditions to contribute and leave a mark on the development of our common state. You will always have the government by your side everywhere, as you have had in these four years," he concluded.

The roundtable was organized by the Association of Kosovo Municipalities, with the support of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo. /Telegrafi/
