Kurti began his speech with the court process in The Hague: Equating the leaders of the KLA with the genocidal regime is a factual and historical distortion

The mandate holder for the formation of the Kosovo Government, Albin Kurti, told the deputies of the Kosovo Assembly that these two sessions are being held in the afternoon as the final sessions of the trial against the leaders of the KLA, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, are being held in The Hague.
He said that the Prosecution's request for a sentence of 45 years in prison for each, when including allegations of crimes against humanity, is an attempt that contradicts the truth and denies the historical and political context of the liberation war, reports Telegrafi.
"The position of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo that I lead is clear. Crimes against humanity have been committed in Kosovo against the Albanian civilian population. And they were committed by the Yugoslav regime under Milosevic. This is documented and internationally recognized.
"The equation between the KLA leaders and the genocidal regime is unsustainable, it is a factual and historical distortion," he said.
Kurti then presented the presentation for his next governing mandate.
He said that during the last mandate they built a fairer and stronger Kosovo, reports Telegrafi.
According to him, the country has had the highest economic growth in the region.
"...We project that this year the Gross Domestic Product will reach 12 billion euros. Meanwhile, for the first time in the next mandate, the Gross Domestic Product per capita in Kosovo will exceed the value of 10 thousand euros," he said.
Kurti further spoke about inflation, saying that Kosovo is the country with the lowest inflation rate after Albania.
He also mentioned the increase in the minimum wage, allowances, pensions, etc.
"We have not kept economic growth in the state, but have distributed it among the population," he said.
Kurti further emphasized that during the next mandate, child allowances will be doubled. "So from 0, which we found, to 45, and in the next mandate from 45 to 90 euros per child, for families with three or more children," he said.
Kurti emphasized that allowances for new mothers and new mothers will also be increased to 500 euros per month for six months. /Telegraph/
