The extraordinary session of the Kosovo Assembly held on October 26, called for the vote on the new Government proposed by the mandate holder Albin Kurti, has ended unsuccessfully.

MPs did not cast enough votes to form the "Kurti 3" Government, leaving the country without a new executive.

According to the voting results, the proposed Government received 56 votes for, 52 against and 4 abstentions, failing to reach the necessary threshold of 61 votes for approval.

After this failure, the responsibility for further steps passes to the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, who has warned that she will invite political parties for consultations within the constitutional deadline.

If the formation of a Government is not achieved even after the second round, the Constitution obliges the President to declare extraordinary elections within 40 days.
