The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has stated that the current president, Vjosa Osmani, has not guaranteed the quorum for the election of the president, therefore, according to him, she was not proposed by Vetëvendosje Movement.

In a press conference, Kurti said that this was known in advance and that the situation was also confirmed during the vote in the Assembly.

"We knew in advance that neither the current president nor the potential president would guarantee us a quorum. This was shown last night with those 66 MPs. In this situation, we have cooperated with other parties. And this is the main reason why we have acted as we have acted and in the end we came to the situation where even the current president was not a candidate," Kurti declared.

He added that it was the Democratic Party of Kosovo that, according to him, initiated the practice of proposing party candidates.

"In this case, in the end we proposed Glauk Konjufca and I believe that the presidency did not make a mistake," he said.

Kurti also commented on President Osmani's statement, which said that the elections were caused by "irresponsible people with dangerous intentions." Asked about this statement, he said that he does not know why she could have referred to him.

"If the President didn't mention names, I don't know why she thought of me. I don't know that we were mentioned, but if she was right, you should look for the answer in the one who said it. Those who weren't at the session last night were irresponsible," Kurti declared.Telegrafi/
