Kurti: We are the first, we will form the new government

The candidate for prime minister from the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, held a press conference after the elections.

In his speech, Kurti said that the electoral process was free, democratic and fair, describing the result as a confirmation of his governance.

"We are the first, this is a confirmation of our good, democratic and progressive governance. Our winning coalition will form the new government," he said.


Kurti stressed that they will continue with the work they have started, adding that citizens have shown that they are against the oligarchs.

"We have had absurd promises from the opposition, which have created an irrational atmosphere," he said.

The recent elections have marked a strong competition between the main parties, while the official results are expected to be announced soon.

According to Central Election Commission data, 50.89% of votes have been counted, and so far the results are:

Self-Determination Movement (LVV) with 37.50% (166,031 votes)

Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) with 29.80% (131,940 votes)

Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) with 16.29% (72,138 votes)

AAK – Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and Nisma with 5.00% (35,073 votes)

Serbian List with 1.15% (10,104 votes)

Coalition for Families with 1.09% (8,856 votes)./Telegraph/
