Kullashi comments on Trump's letter: The US position on Kosovo is clear and unchangeable

Former Kosovo Ambassador to France and academic Muhamedin Kullashi has stated that the United States' position towards Kosovo remains clear and unchanging, as evidenced by letters from President Donald Trump and Secretary Marco Rubio.

Kullashi emphasized that these letters addressed to President Vjosa Osmani confirm the strong support of the United States for Kosovo as a sovereign state.

"The letter that President Trump sent to the President of Kosovo is very clear, as is Marco Rubio's letter... President Trump's positions regarding Kosovo are very clear. They are positions expressing strong support for Kosovo for the democratic processes that have been taking place in Kosovo for many years. Kosovo is also named as a sovereign state in Marco Rubio's letter. Here it is named as a sovereign nation...

These are two letters that have great weight not only for Kosovo, but also for other countries because they need to know that this comes from the US, which has had a decisive role.

"The orientation and clarity of the letter leaves no room for other manipulations that may come," said Kullashi.

In addition, Kullashi emphasized that the delay in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue has served Serbia and Russia more than Kosovo.

"In light of these two letters, these two positions, I think it is good that European officials also understand that this issue (of the dialogue) has been going on for too long. Of course, our side also has other remarks that they have made, not only to Serbia, about how this delay has suited them. To the extent that representatives from our side have not understood this. That this suits Serbia. Just like the weakening of relations with allied states, which have played a decisive role in the liberation and reconstruction of Kosovo," added academician Kullashi.

He criticized the Kurti Government's approach to international partners so far, emphasizing that the lack of coordination with Western allies has damaged diplomatic relations and led to the isolation of the country.

According to Kullashi, the elections held in February could be an opportunity to bring in a new government with experience in cooperating with strategic allies.

"The weakening of these has benefited Serbia. This has been very welcome for both Serbia and Russia."

In other words, the lack of cooperation, coordination with the powers that have a decisive role.

So I believe that these should be overcome. I hope that these elections will bring new solutions. They will bring a new spirit. Not the spirit of isolation. Not the spirit of closing Kosovo, but a different orientation and cooperation. Because Kosovo has experience with international cooperation.

Over the past four years, these remarks have been made regularly at the expense of the Kosovo Government. Which has not found motivation to cooperate with allied countries. So this is not simply Grenell's job, simply his motivation. These are the diplomatic circles that follow developments in depth in our country as well. Both the reports and the positions of officials. (The reports) are damaged due to lack of communication. Due to a closedness. Which is related to ideas with certain ideologies. We have had the opportunity to hear these criticisms that have been made at the expense of representatives of this government. We hope that these will be overcome with a new government. With a government that has had experience with allied countries and that knows how vital this is", Kullashi emphasized at the Dukagjini FIVE.
