The Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, has commented on the claims of the mayor of Leposaviq, Lulzim Hetemi, that KFOR had a "black list" that prohibited the entry of some government officials into the municipalities of northern Kosovo.
Krasniqi stressed that he was never denied entry to the north by KFOR and that there was regular communication about movements in that area.
"Not ever. The mayor has made a statement and it is good to ask exactly which part he is referring to. But we have had regular communications and we have had from time to time also notifications about our movements in the north. Let's not forget the situation on day one when we sent the mayors to the office and now. The situation changes even in this report," Krasniqi said on Debat Plus.
On the other hand, the Deputy Minister of Local Government Administration, Arbër Vokrri, had previously stated that there had been stops by KFOR during attempts to enter municipal facilities in the north.
"There were times when I returned from KFOR. I went there with some ministers, but I wanted to test them first because we didn't want the ministers to return because the situation was sensitive and such news would cause a problem. I was with two ministers near the municipality in Leposavic. I went and the Hungarian KFOR did not allow me to enter the municipal building," Vokrri had stated.
Hetemi had said that this “black list” included the names of ministers, deputy ministers and other senior officials, while the prime minister and the president were not part of it. According to him, KFOR had considered that the entry of government officials could create tensions in the north.
