Krasniqi: Konjufca will fail to form the new government

The resigned leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Memli Krasniqi, has said that the Vetëvendosje Movement will again fail to form a new government.
He said that the candidate for prime minister from this party, Glauk Konjufca, does not have the numbers and that the country is heading towards early elections.
Krasniqi, at a press conference on Wednesday, said that so far Konjufca has not had any contact or request to support them in creating a parliamentary majority.
Konjufca, after being appointed prime minister by President Osmani, has until November 19 to seek a vote of confidence in the Kosovo Assembly.
The leader of the LVV, Albin Kurti, failed on October 26 to form a new government.
"My request was that they call the session the next day, because if they had called it the next day or on the 19th, when the deadline is, the result is known, because they would have failed. There is no way that the Vetëvendosje Movement will form a new government. Consequently, we are heading towards elections, but the sooner the better, except that now it remains a matter of constitutional deadlines. There have been no contacts, no requests. It is widely known that they have taken it upon themselves to drag out time in the function of the run-off, to create a fog as if we have a chance, but in reality they also know that they have no chance of making Konjufca prime minister," he said.
Krasniqi said that he does not support the request for a budget extension from President Vjosa Osmani either.
"The problem is that there are no committees and committees cannot be established. In order to establish parliamentary committees, it is necessary to know who is the position and who is the opposition. This is the problem. I think we do not need solutions that slide into legal or illegal terrain. Is it important? Yes, absolutely. The most important thing is to hold the elections earlier and not make these unnecessary extensions, since there was no reason to give him the mandate, because it is known for sure that he does not have the votes... If the elections are held sooner, the possibility of having a government is greater and then there is no need for an extension, because the budget can be approved at the end of February," Krasniqi said on Wednesday, where he announced his resignation from the position of PDK chairman.
