Krasniqi: Serbia's parallel structures in Kosovo have ended

The Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, has declared that Serbia's parallel institutions in Kosovo have ended once and for all.

Krasniqi, who is currently participating in the elections with the New Democratic Initiative of Kosovo as the bearer of a list with 41 candidates for deputies, emphasized that the main focus has been the closure of parallel municipalities, which until now have functioned as part of Serbia's administrative system.

"Now the parallel institutions of Serbia in Kosovo have ended once and for all. The focus has been primarily on the municipalities. Because in Kosovo all the parallel municipalities that were organized on the basis of the municipal system in Serbia have functioned. So for us the focus has been to start and close these municipalities."

"There may still be some parallel functioning, such as the aggression to clean up the city, but it has not been their first priority. And I agree with this approach that from now on these services should be directly integrated into other parts."

"The important thing is that there is no more space for these institutions here. The important thing is that citizens, even Serbs, have all the services they need in Kosovo, in the municipalities of Kosovo, they have the Kosovo post office," he declared.

"Other interventions that may still occur, the moment we have information, will be addressed, but the treatment is also decentralized," Krasniqi said on Debat Plus.
