Krasniqi: I have not seen Kadri Veseli sending anyone to Klecka

Witness Naser Krasniqi stated on Wednesday that Rexhep Selimi had the role of inspector general of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).

Witness Krasniqi made this statement while answering questions from Judge Christoph Barthe.

"According to what I and others in Brigade 121 knew, Mr. Selimi's role was as inspector general of the KLA," the witness said.

In addition, Naser Krasniqi said that within the KLA there may have been opposing actions, but that he himself was guided by moral and humane principles.

"This does not mean that within the KLA there were no opposing actions or individuals who may have opposed, but now I cannot be specific about cases. I said earlier that the issue of implementing decisions or orders is related to the issue of conscience and accountability, and trust in the KLA, and trust in the General Staff. I was more guided by moral and human principles because at that time I said that I was not familiar with the law and I did not have any experience with the nature of such matters," the witness said.

Part of the witness's testimony was redacted for the public while Judge Barthe was asking questions.

Meanwhile, in the questions of Judge Guénawl Mettraux, the witness said that Jashar Salihu is now deceased, but that he knew him as an important figure of the People's Movement (LPK) in Switzerland. He added that he did not know him closely but only as a figure.

The witness also said that Jashar Salihu was also the chairman of the "Homeland Calls" fund, which aimed to finance the liberation war.

"I don't know, I'm not sure," the witness replied, when asked if Jashar Salihu held any other functions within the KLA.

Before the trial panel, Jakup Krasniqi's defense, represented by attorney Venkateswari Alagendra, also asked questions about the witness. While Thaçi's defense did not have any questions.

Also, from the witness's statements for the defense, prosecutor Vega Iodice said that she needed some clarification, so she asked the witness some additional questions.

Witness Naser Krasniqi stated before the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC) that he never saw Kadri Veseli send anyone to the detention facility in Klecke.

"It's true that I've never seen him send anyone to that center," Veseli said.

The witness said that he stayed around the Klecka area until the end of the war, namely until the beginning of June 1999.

On the grounds that confidential information could be elicited from the witness in subsequent questioning, Veseli's attorney, Rodney Dixon, requested a private hearing. This defense request was approved by the trial panel. /Oath of Justice/
