KOSTT and AKI discuss strengthening energy infrastructure security

The Acting Chief Executive Officer of KOSTT, Shaban Neziri, received in a meeting the Director of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA), Petrit Ajeti.
During the meeting, the strategic importance of the energy sector, the role of KOSTT's critical infrastructure, development plans, as well as state security issues related to the protection and sustainable functioning of the energy system were discussed.
"This meeting aims to present KOSTT's role in the security of the electricity system and discuss measures that guarantee the stability and reliability of the network," said Neziri.
He added that inter-institutional cooperation is essential for identifying and addressing risks that could affect Kosovo's security, with a particular focus on threats to vital infrastructure. "Preventing and addressing any risk, including sabotage and security breaches, is a priority for the functioning of the energy system," Neziri said.
KOSTT emphasizes that cooperation with the KIA enables the exchange of information, the coordination of preventive measures and the strengthening of critical infrastructure protection mechanisms, ensuring a coordinated response and greater resilience in the face of security challenges.
"We highly appreciate this visit as evidence of the joint commitment to strengthening the security and sustainability of the energy infrastructure in the Republic of Kosovo," concludes the KOSTT announcement.
