​Kosovo signs the social security agreement with Croatia

Kosovo and Croatia signed today in Zagreb the agreement on social insurance, which enables the citizens of both countries to realize their rights such as pensions of contribution-paying age, family pensions, pensions for the disabled and the right to pension from the second pillar if have worked and contributed in the respective countries.

The agreement was signed by the Minister of Finance of Kosovo, Hekuran Murati, and the Minister of Labor and Pensions of Croatia, Marin Piletić.

With this agreement, Kosovar citizens who have worked for a long time in Croatia will be able to have the right to receive this pension in Kosovo after reaching retirement age.


Also, Kosovar citizens are given the right to join the periods of contributions (work experience) in order to realize the pension, in cases where it is not possible to meet the legal conditions for retirement either in Kosovo or Croatia.

The agreement will enter into force after ratification in the parliaments of the two countries.

We remind you that two days ago the social security agreement with Slovenia was initiated, while the agreements with Switzerland, Belgium, Albania and the Netherlands are already being implemented.

The negotiation phase of the social security agreement with Austria and Turkey has ended, while negotiations with North Macedonia and Montenegro are expected to begin soon. /Telegraph/
