Acting Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, announced that today the next delivery of OMTAS anti-tank missile systems, contracted with the Turkish state-owned manufacturer Roketsan in December 2023, was received.
According to Maqedonci, OMTAS (Orta Menzilli Tanksavar Silah) is a modern medium-range anti-tank missile system designed to neutralize modern armored vehicles, including tanks equipped with reactive protection, as well as military defensive fortifications.
He emphasized that increasing the variety and quantity of anti-tank missile systems for the Kosovo Security Force aims to cover different operating distances, different terrains and different threat scenarios.
"This development significantly increases the operational flexibility and defensive capabilities of our army," the Macedonian declared.
The Ministry of Defense has announced that the supply of modern military equipment is part of the long-term plan to build the capacities and modernize the Kosovo Security Force, in accordance with NATO standards./Telegrafi.
