Kosovo Police arrest a person from Albania wanted on an international arrest warrant

Kosovo Police have arrested a suspect, a Kosovar citizen, who was internationally wanted for serious criminal offenses.
According to the official announcement, the arrest was carried out on January 12, 2026 by the Directorate for International Police Cooperation, in cooperation and coordination with the Police Station in Malisheva.
The suspect was wanted through INTERPOL, with an international arrest warrant issued by the Republic of Albania, for drug trafficking committed in a special form of collaboration, namely as part of a structured criminal group.
He is also suspected of introducing or possessing prohibited items into institutions for the execution of criminal decisions, as well as of committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group, offenses sanctioned by the Criminal Code of the Republic of Albania.
By order of the prosecutor in charge, the suspect has been remanded in police custody for 48 hours, while further legal proceedings will continue against him in accordance with the legislation in force.
