With the Kosovo flag on his side, Terras reveals the plan for the 5 major recognitions

On December 10, 2024, Riho Terras visited the Varaga of Zubin Potok.

What he saw in this country, where 11 days ago, on November 29, a terrorist attack occurred on the Iber-Lepenc water canal, he, as rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, mentioned in his report, which was voted on this week by this EU institution.

An interesting thing caught everyone's eye as he presented this document in the plenary hall of the Parliament in Brussels, as well as during the press conference he held afterwards.

On his left arm, the politician and former military officer from Estonia had the flag of the Republic of Kosovo, an action that is rare for the EU, reports Klan Kosova.

Reports i Terrace, among other things, calls for the immediate lifting of the punitive measures that the Union of 27 states has imposed on Kosovo, since June 2023.
In it, Spain, Greece, Slovakia, Cyprus, and Romania are called upon to change their stance and recognize the independence of the state that was declared as such on February 17, 2008.

Terras announced that he has a big plan related to this very topic.

"I am planning to visit the ambassadors of the respective countries in Brussels, together with several MEPs from different political groups. In order to get first-hand information on why they do not accept the fact that Kosovo is a state-country. This has been the case for many years. And not recognizing Kosovo, after such a long time, is simply "ridiculous", said Riho Terras, rapporteur for Kosovo-EP.

The Terras report also has a message for Kosovo, which it urgently calls on to make reforms to offer to the EU, and also to open, as it is said, new chapters in the talks for normalization of relations with Serbia.

The findings and recommendations of the rapporteurs for countries aiming for membership in the European Union have great political weight but are not binding on European institutions, such as the Commission and the Council of the EU.
