Kosovo Police has announced that on February 16, 2026, the extradition from Switzerland to Kosovo of a Kosovar citizen, who was wanted by an international arrest warrant, was carried out.
According to the announcement, the extradition was carried out by the Directorate for International Police Cooperation in coordination with the relevant units of the Kosovo Police and justice institutions. The suspect was arrested by the Swiss authorities, as he was wanted by the Kosovo justice institutions for the criminal offense of "Attempted Murder" and is suspected of having evaded justice.
The extradition was carried out thanks to cooperation between the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and those of Switzerland.
Upon arrival in Kosovo, the suspect was handed over to the relevant police units for further legal proceedings.
The Kosovo Police has emphasized that it will continue to exchange information with local institutions, states and international organizations in order to prevent, investigate and detect criminal activities, as well as track down and arrest individuals and criminal groups operating inside and outside the country.
