Kosovo defeats Croatia on the road and takes the top spot in the group

Kosovo's female footballers have achieved a very important victory on the road against Croatia, triumphing with a minimum score of 1-0 in the framework of the qualifications for the 2027 Women's World Cup.
The match took place on Saturday in Karlovac, where the Kosovar footballers managed to get three very valuable points against an opponent who was considered the favorite in Group 2 of League C.
The only goal of the match was scored by Modesta Uka in the 13th minute. This goal proved decisive, as the score remained unchanged until the end of the match and Kosovo secured the victory.
Thanks to this success, Kosovo climbs to the top of the table with six points, three more than Croatia. In the first match of this qualifying cycle, on March 3 at the Fadil Vokrri Stadium in Pristina, Kosovo had won convincingly 6-0 against Gibraltar.
Kosovo will play their next match on April 14th away against Bulgaria, while on April 18th they will host the same opponent at home.
The qualifying cycle will conclude in June. On June 5, Kosovo will face Croatia in Pristina, while on June 9, they will play away against Gibraltar.
Direct qualification to the World Cup is not possible from League C. The team that finishes first in the group secures a place in the play-offs, while the opportunity to reach the play-offs also exists for the team that ranks second./Telegrafi/
