"KOSOVO BOYCOTS", citizens with initiative to boycott markets on February 10 due to high prices

In Kosovo, a large number of citizens have launched an initiative to boycott supermarkets as a result of high prices that have hit family budgets.

The boycott of markets is planned to take place on February 10th and last all day.

This boycott is a reaction to the rapid and unreasonable increase in the prices of food and basic products, which have become unaffordable for many Kosovars, reports Telegrafi.

"KOSOVO BOYCOTS"", is the group that has gathered around three thousand citizens so far.

In the group, which is open, numerous photos of high prices of food products have been distributed, and there is also no shortage of price comparisons where prices in Kosovo are more expensive than in European countries.

The group's administrators have stated that their goal is to raise consumer awareness about market prices.

"The goal of our group is to raise consumer awareness about market prices and to promote an open debate on this issue, bringing it to the attention of the public and relevant institutions. We believe that transparency and information are essential to protect consumer interests and positively influence trade policies."

"We have no intention of harming the economy of markets, as they are an important part of our economy, pay taxes and employ thousands of citizens. Therefore, the activities of our group aim to raise awareness and not to harm businesses or create obstacles to their operation," one of the administrators said in a post.

Furthermore, it is emphasized that they want a one-day boycott.

"Through a one-day boycott, we want to bring this topic to the center of attention and create a wave of reactions that can contribute to improving the situation. This boycott is a symbolic form of protest, which aims to highlight consumer concerns and promote a broader discussion on high prices and the factors that influence them," the post continues.

So far, there have been many citizens who have complained about the high prices.

There have also been initiatives to boycott markets in North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and other countries.telegraph/
