In the latest episode of “Përballje Podcast”, the director of “Plug and Play Tech Center” for Southeast Europe, Uranik Begu, emphasized the importance of building an economy based on innovation and knowledge in Kosovo. This podcast is supported by the fuel company Exfis.

Begu highlighted the potential of young people and regional cooperation as key to further development. “This is a challenge, but also an opportunity – for young men and women, but also for those who live abroad and want to contribute with their knowledge. We need to create spaces and conditions for them to do so,” he said.

He added that Kosovo needs to invest in infrastructure, knowledge and support businesses, not only through grants, but also through policies that facilitate private investment, tax incentives and the creation of an attractive environment for large technology companies.

"Kosovo needs to create an environment where companies like Google or Plug and Play see the country as a destination with investment potential, not only for the local market, but also for the region," he added.

Begu also noted that Kosovo's positioning towards the Western bloc and American technology companies is a strategic advantage that should be exploited with a long-term vision.

"The world is divided, fragmented. Fortunately, we have positioned ourselves on the side of large American companies like Google and others – and this should serve as the basis for building an innovative economy in Kosovo," he concluded./Telegrafi./
