The Police personnel of the North Mitrovica Regional Police Directorate will now use part of the Trepca building. The facility was visited by the Minister of Interior, Xhelal Sveçla, and the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli.
As of this Saturday, police officers of the Regional Directorate in North Mitrovica will have new premises and offices.
Work has already begun in terms of network distribution, installation of security cameras, and some technical parts.
The head of investigations, regional traffic and operations are expected to be located within this facility.
"Regional traffic will be here, there will probably be operatives, my office, our administration office and the head of investigations or something like that. There will probably be other people on the other side of the building we have here, but this will mean a huge release of space for both the Zveçan station where regional traffic was and the Mitrovica North station," said the deputy director of the police for the north, Veton Elshani.
Elshani says that this space allows them to provide more professional services.
"This affects the provision of better quality services to the citizens of the country because we have more space and more quality. It fulfills its capacities as far as this part of the building has now, we will see later if we need more people. The day after tomorrow we will have 117 new police officers. The number of police officers has increased," he said, for tevë1.
