Kosovo Police, in close coordination with the US Embassy in Pristina, will conduct a large-scale security exercise in the capital on Friday.
The activity will take place from 15:00 PM to 21:00 PM and includes the area around the American Embassy building in the Arbëria neighborhood.
According to the official announcement, the exercise aims to strengthen cooperation between security institutions and increase preparedness for managing emergency situations and potential incidents in the country.
"This exercise aims to test the response time, effectiveness and efficiency of officials and equipment, as well as communication and coordination between relevant units and institutions in emergency situations, with the aim of guaranteeing a safe environment for citizens, diplomatic staff and Kosovo institutions," the embassy's announcement states.
An increased presence of Kosovo Police and US Embassy security personnel is expected during the exercise, as well as the use of police equipment, including loudspeakers, sirens, and other logistical equipment.
Authorities clarify that this is just an exercise and not a response to any real incident.
The police request cooperation and understanding from citizens, especially from traffic participants, who are recommended to avoid movement in the area around the American Embassy during exercise hours, due to temporary traffic disruptions./Telegrafi.
