Kosovo-Albania, customs cooperation strengthened to facilitate trade and economic development

The Director General of Kosovo Customs, Agron Llugaliu, held an official meeting with the Director General of Albanian Customs, Besmir Beja, with the aim of deepening bilateral cooperation and advancing the joint agenda in the customs field.
During the meeting, the progress achieved over the years and the high level of institutional coordination were assessed, which has contributed to improving procedures, increasing operational efficiency and expanding trade exchanges between the two countries.
According to the press release, special attention was paid to the functioning of the Kosovo Customs Office at the Port of Durres, as well as the implementation of the One Stop Shop system at the Morinë border crossing, mechanisms that were assessed as successful models of cooperation, reducing waiting times, lowering costs for businesses and facilitating the circulation of goods and passengers.
Director Llugaliu emphasized the strategic importance of the presence of Kosovo Customs at the Port of Durres, considering this a key instrument for strengthening the competitive position of Kosovo's economic operators and for increasing access to regional and wider markets.
The discussions also addressed common priorities for digitalization, advancing electronic data exchange, and strengthening cooperation in joint investigations, with the aim of increasing transparency, security, and preventing illegal activities.
In conclusion, the parties emphasized the willingness to further consolidate the institutional partnership and take new steps that support trade facilitation and sustainable economic development of Kosovo and Albania. /Telegrafi/
