In honor of the 18th anniversary of Independence, the flag of Kosovo was raised in Chicago on Friday alongside that of the United States and the city of Chicago.
The Kosovo Consulate in Iowa announced that the ceremony was attended by the consulate's leaders, who thanked the Albanian Community of Illinois for their commitment to Kosovo.
"During the ceremony, Consulate Director Drilon Zogaj and First Secretary Fatmir Rrahmanaj thanked the leaders of the Albanian Community of Illinois and the Dardania Association for their dedication to Kosovo and our compatriots in Illinois," the announcement states.
