"Kosovars have penalized me", Vesa Smolica says she is disappointed with Alma Bektashi and Florent Boshnjaku for their evaluation at the RTSH Festival

Renowned singer Vesa Smolica was the next guest on "Shok Podcast" with Fisnik Juniku, where she spoke about her musical journey and experience in Albanian talent shows.

During the conversation, the moderator asked her if she had ever been suggested to declare more often that she was from Kosovo. In her response, Vesa emphasized that she had not felt such a need and that she had always been appreciated by the juries, regardless of her origin.

"At that festival (RTSH Festival) there were two Kosovars on the jury, if they wanted, they would have put me higher. Alma Bektashi, who was also my mentor on 'The Voice', gave me fourth place. If she had given me second, I would have been ranked first. While Florent Boshnjaku gave me third place," said the singer from Gjakova.

She added that, although she has never placed first in the competitions she has participated in, doors have opened for her in Albania and she has become a well-known name in the music scene. "They have given me opportunities, they have branded me as Vesa Smolica, even though they have never given me first place. However, I have always reached the finals and been in the top three or top two," she said.
