Kosovars cannot apply for work visas in Germany – deadlines for 2025 are being met

Workers from Kosovo who wish to work in Germany through the Western Balkans Regulation will no longer be able to apply for work visas during 2025, as the annual quota of appointments has been filled in less than a month.

The news has been confirmed by the German Embassy in Kosovo and the German Employment Agency, which has announced on its official website that there will be no new appointments until 2026.

Meanwhile, Albanian journalist in Germany, Bahri Cani, shared the post, explaining the procedure.

"The great interest of unskilled workers from Kosovo has caused the quota for this country to fill up very quickly, while there are still vacancies for citizens of Albania, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia."

In total, 50 work visas are foreseen for all six Western Balkan countries for 2025, but each country has its own quota.

For Kosovo, this quota has already been filled, making further application for next year impossible. /Telegrafi/
