Kosovar mountaineers – Uta Ibrahimi and Mrika Nikqi on postage stamps

The Post of Kosovo, through its Philately, has today released into circulation the new issue of postage stamps "Alpinists of Kosovo - Uta Ibrahimi and Mrika Nikqi".
This postage stamp issue is dedicated to Kosovar mountaineering and the women who, with courage, dedication and historic achievements, have raised the name and flag of Kosovo to the highest peaks in the world.
"The motifs of the two postage stamps present two world-class Kosovar mountaineers: Uta Ibrahimi, who managed to become the first woman from the Balkans to climb 14 peaks over 8.000 meters, and Mrika Nikqi, the youngest Kosovar mountaineer who also touched the highest peaks in the world, including Mount Everest.
"With courage, dedication and vision, Uta and Mrika have put Kosovo on the global mountaineering map. The two extraordinary athletes are symbols of boundless ambition and proof that big dreams know no age. Their example remains an inspiration for mountaineers of all generations," the announcement says. /Telegrafi/
