Kosovar man killed while trying to stop a burglary in a New York apartment

The caretaker of a Brooklyn apartment building who tragically lost his life after being attacked by a person trying to steal packages in the building's lobby is from Kosovo and a devoted father of three.
Burim Havolli, 41, an apartment supervisor in the Ditmas Park neighborhood of Brooklyn, was tragically killed while confronting a burglary suspect in the building he was supervising, reports nypost.
He was a refugee from the Kosovo war and a father of three children, while residents of the neighborhood describe him as a man with a big heart who cared about others, reports the Telegraph.
"He died protecting the building, protecting the residents' packages," said his brother, Blerim Havolli, adding that "he cared so much about everyone here. He had a big heart. He was just incredible."

The incident occurred around 8 a.m. Wednesday when Havolli confronted the 30-year-old suspect, who had entered the building to steal a package. The verbal altercation escalated and resulted in multiple blows to the head against Havolli, who collapsed and died at Kings County Hospital Center.
Police have announced that one person has been questioned in connection with the case, but no charges have been filed so far. Investigations to fully clarify the circumstances are ongoing.
Legal representatives of Havoll have demanded that justice be served and that there be strong consequences for the perpetrator.
In a Facebook post, the family announced that Burim Havoll's funeral ceremony will be held in his hometown, Kosovo.
Regarding Havoll's death, family members have also reacted on social media, announcing that his funeral will be held in Kosovo.
His brother said Burim had traveled to Europe to visit his ailing mother just two days before the incident and had returned to New York before the fight occurred. /Telegraph/
