Kosovo's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Glauk Konjufca, stated from The Hague that the trial against the leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) has been worrying and, according to him, accompanied by political influences.

He stressed that during the course of the trial there were numerous violations of the rights of the accused, adding that some elements of the case do not represent, in his opinion, "pure justice".

"This process has greatly concerned us, because during it there have been numerous violations of the rights of the accused, the leaders of the KLA. There have been many elements that are suspected of not representing pure justice and are politically motivated," Konjufca said.

Commenting on the 73-page indictment, he said that the document, in his opinion, focuses more on the character of the KLA's war than on the individual responsibility of the accused.

Konjufca emphasized that Kosovo's freedom came as a result of the combination of the will of the people and international intervention, calling this a key factor in ending the war.

He has expressed optimism regarding the outcome of the trial, stating that he believes that the indictment will be dropped and the KLA leaders will be declared innocent.

"I am very optimistic that the court will dismiss the indictment and the leaders of our glorious Army will soon be free and without any legal burden," Konjufca declared.
