Kica-Xhelili says for the first time why the opposition is not forming a government

The Vice President of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Doarsa Kica-Xhelili, has shown for the first time why there is no opposition government in Kosovo.

Doarsa Kica-Xhelili said that neither the opposition nor VV have the numbers to form a government.

"Other parties have clearly not wanted to say that they do not have votes. Because often when they tell us that you are blocking an opposition government, I say yes, I will give you my votes. Let's break down how the rest of you have your votes and then discuss whether someone is blocking it or not. And we have two statements from minority representatives who say that LDK is a chauvinist party, they cannot enter a coalition with LDK. Then you have actors within LDK who would not vote for an opposition government, one so far," said Kica - Xhelili in "DPT te Fidani" on Klan Kosova.

She underlined that LDK is not influenced by LVV propaganda and that they promised in the campaign that they would keep their word and said that LDK is doing this.

"We have been the party most attacked by LVV, to a point where I thought they had the impression that it was just us and them on the political scene in Kosovo," said Kica - Xhelili.

She spoke about LDK's refusal to form a coalition with VV, saying that this party's positions before the campaign were very clear.

Kica-Xhelili said he has the impression that some people did not believe they would be so stoic in their stances.

"The moment we had the opportunity to prove that we decided to honor and respect what we say to the voters, we began to be judged as to 'why are you so dismissive'."

"We are not rejecters, but we are representatives. I am not an individual in LDK either, I am a representative of my voters, just as others are representatives of their voters, and we know exactly what communication we have had with our voters," she said.

She further stated that before the campaign, they told LDK voters that they had a big gap with Vetëvendosje because of the ruling mentality, which is anti-constitutional, anti-state, and because of the mentality against the essential alliances of Kosovo.

"Before the campaign, we told our voters that we have such a big gap with Vetëvendosje because of the governing mentality, because of the anti-constitutional mentality, because of the anti-state mentality, and because of the mentality against the essential alliances of Kosovo."

"I think that all of this that I am saying has been broken down into a four-year mandate in the actions that this government has taken. Now, taking all of this into account, we have said that their way of functioning, which flows and stems from how they think, does not change overnight because they seem to have the way they act as their core," she said.

Kica-Xheli also mentioned the language used by the Vetëvendosje Movement during the campaign, which he said has contributed to the widening gap between them.
