Regarding some claims circulating on social media that NATO has launched missiles from Camp Bondsteel or facilities related to Kosovo towards Iran, NATO has stated that this is a false claim and that it completely rejects it.

A NATO official points out that Secretary General Mark Rutte has made it clear that the Alliance is not involved in the current air campaign against the Iranian regime.

"This allegation is false and we completely reject it. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has already made it clear that NATO as an organization is not involved in the current air campaign against the Iranian regime. KFOR continues to fulfill its mandate to contribute to a secure and stable environment for all people living in Kosovo."

"This is also the focus of our mission. The United States continues to play a key role in supporting sustainable security in Kosovo and regional stability, including within the framework of the NATO-led KFOR mission," the response states.

It is further noted that, "The United States has approximately 600 troops deployed in KFOR. They command the mission's Regional Command East, which contributes to KFOR's daily activities in various ways, including patrols, exercises, meetings with representatives of all local communities, and support for reconstruction and economic development projects."
