According to CalciomercateJuventus have given up the opportunity to sign Brazilian striker Endrick from Real Madrid on loan during the winter transfer window.

The black and white club had been considering this option since November, due to concerns regarding the offensive department.

Jonathan David and Lois Openda, approached last summer, had failed to meet expectations, prompting Juventus to look for a new "number nine" striker.

During this process, other names such as Jean-Philippe Mateta, Youssef En-Nesyri and Randal Kolo Muani were also on Juventus' radar, which proves the club's urgency for reinforcements in attack.

According to reports, it was Endrick's circle that approached Juventus with the loan proposal, but the black and white leaders ultimately decided not to accept the deal.

The main reason was related to the fact that the loan did not include a purchase option, which, according to Juventus, would strengthen an asset of another club without guaranteeing the possibility of securing the player permanently in case he excelled.

Endrick then moved to Lyon on a simple loan deal. The 19-year-old striker has made an immediate impact, scoring five goals and providing one assist in his first five appearances, highlighting the potential that Juventus chose not to exploit.

Endrick was bought by Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 for a figure slightly lower than 50 million euros, while he has a contract with the Spanish club until 2030, remaining a player to be closely followed in the coming months.Telegrafi/
