Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed the two biggest challenges he faced with Mohamed Salah after the Egyptian striker was left out of Arne Slott's squad for the match against Inter.

Liverpool played without Salah on Tuesday night in the Champions League, as they won 1-0 thanks to a late penalty from Dominik Szoboszlai.

The Reds dropped the striker from the squad following his explosive post-match interview against Leeds United on Saturday night.

Salah stated that he had been "thrown under the bus" by the club and that he had no relationship with coach Arne Slot.

His former manager Jurgen Klopp has now explained that, although their relationship has been very good, managing a player like Salah has come with certain challenges.

"We are all very influenced by our past, by the way we grew up, by the place we lived. Mo knew early in his life that he had to work harder than others. He was constantly developing."

"He never stopped. That's his mentality. After every summer break he would come back with a new skill. It was like he spent the whole break practicing a particular type of pass."

"We pushed each other, just to make sure we never stopped. And we didn't stop. That moment when we lifted the Premier League trophy bonded us forever."

"He will be remembered as one of the greatest of all time."

However, Klopp admitted he still had difficulties managing Salah.

"I wouldn't say he's easy to manage, but he's not difficult either. With Mo Salah you only have problems if he's not playing or when you replace him," the German coach said.Telegrafi/
