Janić with other details: The US is preparing a document where Serbia should recognize Kosovo

The United States will present a document for mutual recognition between Kosovo and the state of Serbia. This was stated by analyst Dushan Janic on the Balkan Talks show on Euronews Albania.
Janić has confirmed that there is a draft from the United States of America, which requires Serbia to recognize Kosovo as a state.
"I stand by it, but there are some changes, and I know that the term 'Non paper' is famous for the Balkans and I use it, and for Aleksandar Vučić or other people. But this time I spoke about an American expert or a congressman who are using the basis for the future dialogue. According to the information I have, the American Congress adopted the law on the Western Balkans, and it clearly states that an agreement on mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia must be reached. My sources are experts and politicians," said Janić, according to Euronews Albania.
A week ago, Western Balkans policy expert Dusan Janic declared that in March or April of this year, the US will present a document for mutual recognition between Kosovo and the state of Serbia.
According to Janić, the document in question will not be non-paper, and this has frightened the Serbs.
Otherwise, Kosovo and Serbia have increased their agreement on the Brussels Agreement and the Ohrid Annex in 2023, but so far this agreement has not been implemented.
During the Kurti Government's mandate, Kosovo and Serbia held a series of meetings at the level of leaders, as well as at the level of chief negotiators, but the parties did not agree on the implementation of the agreement.
The dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia during 2025 has remained blocked, without any visible progress, according to experts on this process, due to internal political developments in both countries and the lack of a stronger commitment from the European Union. The lack of institution-building in Kosovo and the political turmoil in Serbia, according to them, have caused this process to stall. In the meantime, the European Union is being asked to address several preconditions towards Serbia, such as its responsibilities for the terrorist attack in Banjska, as well as its intensive lobbying against Kosovo's membership in international organizations.
