The Mayor of Karposh Municipality, Stevcho Jakimovski, who was sentenced to three years and six months in prison for two criminal offenses of abuse of official position, today in front of the municipal building declared that the decision of the Basic Criminal Court is scandalous and that there is not a single piece of evidence against him. He announced that he will appeal the verdict to the Court of Appeal.

He says he expected a release and that "this is a political ploy."

"I am convicted for having built this hut and the other one, where the project includes the construction of an assembly-disassembly hut. This is made of plaster, according to all regulations and standards, it is a temporary object of the Ministry of Transport and Communications and cannot be prosecuted because it is a temporary object," said Jakimovski.

He added that this is not a matter of crime or corruption and emphasized that this is an administrative procedure that can be interrupted at any stage.

Otherwise, the mayor of the municipality Stevço Jakimovski was sentenced to three years and six months in prison for two criminal offenses of abuse of official position, while a former municipal employee was sentenced to two years suspended.
