Naim Jakaj from IKL stated that with the start of the Assembly session for the election of the president, the constitutional deadline of 60 days for the election of the president has also begun to run.

Jakaj said that if the election of the president is not achieved within this deadline, then the Kosovo Assembly will be automatically dissolved and the country will go to new elections.

According to him, in such a situation, extraordinary elections should be held within 45 days after the dissolution of the Assembly.

He further added that "President Vjosa Osmani cannot announce the elections today, as the legal deadline ends after 00:00."

"The session has begun and with this the 60-day deadline has begun. If we do not have a president within this deadline, the Assembly will be dissolved and the country will go to elections, which could be held in May. Then, within 45 days, extraordinary elections will be organized," Jakaj declared on RTV21.
