Italian media personality Fabrizio Corona has publicly accused Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni of betting on matches he himself was involved in, claiming to possess conversations as evidence to support the accusations.

Speaking on the show Peppi Night IN Channel 21, Corona said he had conducted an investigation into suspected betting activity in Italian football, which he said had not received adequate media attention.

He also criticized what he described as soft sanctions in previous cases.

"I conducted an investigation into football that no website reported. Players were selling their matches on websites managed by Romanian, Albanian and Calabrian criminal groups."

"I have the conversations, I have the evidence. In the end they were fined 250 thousand euros. What country is this? Bastoni, I'm telling you, he was playing. I told you and I have the evidence."

"He was betting on his matches, even on throw-ins. I don't watch football anymore, really. I don't go to the stadium anymore."

"Because when you see millionaire guys betting and manipulating a game that millions of people invest their souls in, it's disgusting. This is disgusting," Corona said.Telegrafi/
