Spezzatino is a popular Italian goulash-like dish

The meat is cut into small cubes, flour is thrown in, it is fried in fat with onions and various vegetables, it is boiled at a low temperature for about three hours until the meat is soft, so it is cut with a fork, Telegrafi reports.

Ingredients:


- 1 kg of boneless beef;
- 400 ml of broth;
- 200 ml of dry white wine;
- half a chopped onion;
- half kg of peppers;
- 3 - 4 cloves of garlic;
– 1 bay leaf;
- 2 handfuls of fresh parsley;
- olive oil for frying;
- flour to put on top;
- salt and pepper, as desired.

Preparation:

1. In a large pot, heat some olive oil and fry the pieces of meat cut to approximately the same size, to which you previously sprinkled some flour.

2. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, or until all the liquid evaporates from the meat, and the beef takes on a brown skin.

3. Pour over the white wine and boil everything together for about ten minutes, or until all the alcohol evaporates.

4. In a pot, fry the onion, peppers cut into strips, pour the meat water and fry everything together for a few minutes. Sprinkle salt and pepper. Add a bay leaf.

5. Put the onion cut into thin slices in the pot, cover with a lid and let it all cook together without stirring for about two to three hours, or until the meat softens, while the vegetables turn into a gelatinous sauce.

6. Before the cooking is finished, put finely chopped parsley in the pot.
